Description:
Abstract:
Chapter 1 aims at developing elementary skills in language learning such as pronunciation and reading/writing. The Greek alphabet is the starting point for the introduction of the Modern Greek sounds, which work together with stress to form the phonetic “profile” of any Modern Greek word. Apart from single words, the chapter also deals with longer units (phrases and sentences) in order to introduce related phenomena such as intonation and focus/emphasis.
