Abstract:
Laundry is among the most important activities in households. Laundry washing is directly associated with personal hygiene and cleanliness of the members of the household. Laundry uses water in addition to a number of products associeted with the chemical industry, the most important of which are detergents. The aim of this chapter is the presentation of the main inputs of energy and materials that are associated with laundry, and their environmental impacts. In addition, good practies aiming at reducing the environmental impact of laundry are presented and discussed.
